Adolf
Otto
Wulle
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adolf on March 19, 2023. He is survived by his wife , Lina (Antico), caring father to Tony and Linda and daughter-in-law Vivian, and cherished grandfather of Alexander, Kayla, and Kyle.
Adolf was born on April 11, 1940, to Adolf P. Wulle and Theresa Hagler, in Munich, Germany. Adolf grew up in war torn Germany, so material worth was never important to him. Even as an adult, he was never a showy person. Adi was an adventurous child with dreams of travelling. In 1960, Adi immigrated to Toronto, Canada, alone, to pursue a new life with opportunities. Dad worked as a machine engineer at Rothmans, where he met his future wife, Lina (Antico) who was a machine operator. It was a match made in heaven as Adi always ran to fix Lina's machine first, probably because she would bring him homemade food for lunch. Adi and Lina were married on September 22, 1962. Last year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Shortly after their marriage, Adi and Lina welcomed two wonderful children, Tony and Linda. Not saying he was the best dad, but he did own more than one #1 dad coffee mug and t'shirt. Much of his family time was spent attending sporting events, plays, and school band functions. The family spent many summers camping, or travelling to Germany to visit his parents and in winter cross-country skiing and skating. It wasn't unusual for Adi to join his family at the beach after work for a bbq and evening dip in Lake Simcoe.
Adi was a tool and die maker by trade and then became Toolroom Manager at Bathurst Tool. He stayed there until Magna International came looking for his talents. He joined the Magna Family in 1982 as an Assistant General Manager of Unimatic. He soon became the General Manager and transferred to Normark Mfg., to lead his new tribe to much success and job security for years to come. Adi retired in 2006. He turned in his dress shirts for a much more comfortable look and spent the next two decades, travelling with his wife, spending lots of time in nature and being the most loving Opa to his three grandchildren, Alexander, Kayla and Kyle.
Adi was very much into sports. He played European Handball in the 70's and 80's as captain of his team. He loved playing soccer, golfing, swimming and even joined the company baseball team, "Wulle's Bullies". He was very much a team player, both on the field and in every aspect of his life. He had a passion for "football" and followed his beloved FC Bayern Munich Football Club to the very end. Imagine how pleased he was to join Sudkurve Toronto to be part of a close knit group of Bayern fans. He made friends quickly and soon became a valued member. He loved to play cards, so much so, he joined a German Skat Club in the 90's where he formed life long friendships with many other like-minded Europeans. He maintained these friendships to this day.
Adi was a true friend, leader, boss, mentor, coach, opa, dad, and husband. He will forever be held dear in the hearts and memories of his many family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin Street, south of Lawrence Avenue W.) on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 1-3 & 6 - 9 pm. A brief Funeral Service will be celebrated at 8:00 pm in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice is encouraged by Adi's family.
A celebration of life social will be held at a later date, to be announced.
