Obituary for Anna Furgiuele (Sposato)

God called our treasured mother Anna Furgiuele (Sposato) home peacefully on September 17, 2020. Anna was surrounded by her 5 loving children Piero (Elena), Giulia (Antonio), Roberto (Sylvia), Gianfranco (Mena), Teresa (Giuseppe). She is reunited in paradise with her beloved husband Michele (Eugenio) 2014, mother Fiorenza Sacco, stepmother Maria Garofolo, and father Domenico Sposato. Anna leaves behind family and extended family in Italy. Anna’s grandchildren Gilda (Joe), Michael (Nancy), Diana (Vince), Carmelo (Connie), Marcello (Melyssa), Jessica, Marco, Cassandra, Justin (Jessica) and Kayla were the pride and joy of her life. Forever loved by her great-grandchildren, Amanda (Angelo), Anthony, Gianluca, Alessia, Lucas, Sierra, Piero, Samantha and Olivia. Anna was a simple, kind, selfless and generous person who’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and sharing meals together. Anna will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives and many friends. Her memory will live on forever. We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to her doctor and the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care team for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 3-8 p.m. Please note, that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions and social distancing requirements, for the visitation, the funeral home must conform to 30% occupancy capacity. Visitors may need to wait to enter the funeral home in order to maintain the capacity requirement. Face masks are mandatory and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John Bosco Church (402 Westmount Ave. – Rogers Rd., east of Dufferin St.) on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Please note, the capacity of St. John Bosco Church is 60 people and face masks are mandatory.

A private entombment will follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens. Due to the limited number of people allowed in the mausoleums, only the immediate family members will attend the services at the cemetery.

If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Anna.
