Obituary for Argia Della Savia (Barbui)

DELLA SAVIA, Argia
April 22, 1928 – January 16, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Argia on January 16, 2021 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years, Antonio, and her beloved son, Roy. Proud nonna of Francesca. Cherished mother-in-law to Anna Maria. Caring and attentive friend to Anna Maria’s mother, Vittoria. Argia will always be remembered for her generous heart, witty sense of humour, elegant style, and unparalleled punctuality. Her burning passion for BINGO often brought out her competitive side, but she was always quick to share her winnings with her family. Argia was consumed by wanderlust and thoroughly enjoyed her travels throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe. She had a special affection for animals and spent hours showering her late granddog, Coco, with love and belly rubs. Argia’s imaginative and mesmerizing stories will be treasured by her granddaughter for years to come. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

In the interest of everyone’s safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, Argia’s family will be holding a private visitation on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Bernardo Funeral Homes – Dufferin Chapel, immediately followed by a private funeral mass at 9:00AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church.

Relatives and friends may watch and participate in the funeral mass virtually via the following link:

Following the mass, there will be a private entombment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, where Argia will be laid to rest.
