Obituary for Assunta Cellucci

It is with great sadness that the family of Assunta Cellucci announces her sudden passing on March 15, 2021. She passed peacefully at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Lucio Cellucci, with whom she shared over 49 years. Loving mother to Gerry (Stella), Mary (Tony); beloved nonna of Julia and Robert. Assunta will be sadly missed and never forgotten by her aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Assunta’s love for her grandchildren was demonstrated at Sunday dinners, preparing their favourite dishes and always making sure there was enough left over to take home and share with friends.

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, visitations wishing to attend must reserve a time. Below, please click the blue RSVP button to select and reserve a time slot.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Friends and relatives are welcome to participate virtually via YouTube:

Assunta will be laid to rest with her husband at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Due to the limitations in place, the funeral mass and services at the cemetery will be private. In honour of our mother and nonna, a Celebration of Life will be held as soon as it is safe to do so.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in memory of Assunta Cellucci to the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation. Your gift in memory of our mother and nonna will support others who are in need during difficult times in their lives.
