Francesco Del Mei

Novemeber 25, 1937 – September 3, 2022 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco on September 3, 2022 at the age of 84.  Beloved husband of Giovanna for 47 years. Cherished by his children Cathy (James) and Janette.  Loving Nonno to his grandchildren Allyssa, Jack and Lia. He is reunited in heaven with his parents Antonio & Giovanna and brothers Severino, Pietro and Beppino.  Francesco will be missed by his sister Albina (Italy), his brothers in-law and sisters-in law and all of his nieces and nephews. 

Francesco enjoyed the simple things in life including his family, watching soccer, BBQ and his garden.  He worked for many years in masonry.  He was a hard working man with a gentle demeanor and a wonderful sense of humor.  He will be sorrily missed by everyone who knew him. 

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral home (2960 Dufferin Street, south of Lawrence Avenue W.) on Thursday September 8, 2022 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Avenue W., at Dufferin Street) on Friday September 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.  Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst Street, north of Finch Avenue.)

Due to our family’s extenuating circumstances we kindly ask you not to attend if you have tested positive for Covid in the past 14 days or have any symptoms of Covid.  We are asking that everyone please wear a mask in the funeral home, church, and cemetery.
