Obituary for Gerardo Caivano
CAIVANO, Gerardo
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father and nonno Gerardo on January 15, 2021 at the age of 89. Loving husband for 65 years, he leaves behind his wife Maria. Beloved father of Angela (spouse Dominic), Elena (spouse Carlo) Linda (spouse Matthew), and David. Proud nonno of Laura, Matthew, Steven, Robert, Alexandra, James and Great nonno to Leonardo. Predeceased by his parents, Vito and Angela, sister Rocchina, brothers Mauro and Carmine (Minuce).
He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born in Picerno, Italy, and immigrating to Canada in 1956, Gerardo spent his life as a hardworking, dedicated, faithful man.
We will always remember his enthusiasm and love for watching a good soccer game and other sporting events. He very much enjoyed making wine each year and sharing a glass with family and friends. In his final days at home he enjoyed playing cards with his wife Maria.
As the Province of Ontario has moved into a more restricted ‘lockdown’ category during this pandemic, our family has made the difficult decision to hold a private funeral service and burial for our husband and father.

Following the service, Gerardo will be laid to rest at Westminster Cemetery. Due to the limited number of people allowed to be in attendance, only the immediate family members will attend the services in the funeral home and at the cemetery.
