Obituary for Giovanni Galeazza
With sadness, we announce the passing of Giovanni on December 20, 2020 at the age of 90. Cherished husband for 64 years to Nelida. Beloved father of Aldo (Marguerite Anne Moynihan), and Tania (John Folino). Proud nonno of Julia and Luca. Predeceased by his siblings Crescenzo (Sara) and Maria (Antonio Di Federico, predeceased). Survived by his brother Fausto (Giuseppina) and Lina (Michele Pallotta, predeceased. A memorable Zio, Giovanni will be missed by his nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 24, 2020 from 8-10 a.m. As the City of Toronto has moved into the more restricted ‘lockdown’ category during this pandemic, guests will now need to now schedule and reserve their time to attended visitations. Available on the Bernardo Funeral Home website (www.bernardofh.com) you can reserve for yourself and family time during the visitation (see below and click the blue RSVP button). Face masks are mandatory and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building.
A private funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to participate online:

Following the service, Giovanni will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery. Due to the limited number of people allowed to be in attendance, only the immediate family members will attend the services in the funeral home and at the cemetery.
In memory of Giovanni, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
