Obituary

IORI, Giulietta(Giulia)

God called our beloved Giulia on April 20, 2021 at the age of 85. She was born on May 23, 1935 in S. Nicola da Crissa, CZ, Italy and immigrated to Canada at the young age of sixteen. She married the love of her life Raffaele and became a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother while living a fulfilled and wonderful life.

Her world revolved around family, friends, and the church. Spending time with her children and grandchildren brought the most joy to her heart. Giulia was very outgoing and friendly and enjoyed meeting and talking to people and sharing stories while always looking her very best. She was devoted to her clients at Caffe Brasiliano for 33 years where she was known for her delicious and famous veal sandwiches and other culinary delights.

Giulia will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all who knew her, but will live on forever in our hearts. Loving mother to Angela(Tony Malatesta), Mirella(Antonio Morsillo). Nonna to Alyssa, Augustin, Sophia and Alessia. Always remembered by her siblings, Giovanna Rosa Iozzo, Lorenzo Cosentino(Tina). Giulia was predeceased by her sister Liliana Etchells (Jim) and will be forever remembered by her brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Giulia will be greatly missed and held in our hearts and memories forever.

Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. (The Donation Link is at the bottom of the page) Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic restrictions; including the limited CAPACITY restriction of 10 individuals allowed in the funeral home at one time, our family has decided to have a private service for family members only. However, Funeral Service will be livestreamed virtually through youtube. To watch Giulia’s service on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. please click the link below.

Angela, Mirella and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother. I write this with tears in my eyes, thinking about all of the wonderful memories I have of Signora Giulia & Ralph. They were both a huge part of my upbringing on Dundas. I was always happy to go see them after school at the coffee shop. The last few years, I would see Giulia on her walks around Poplar, and she would come by to say hi to me and Lauren. She was always so happy to see us. That beautiful smile and her stories always made my day. I know she had a rough few years, but now she is pain free and reunited with the love of her life. She is definitely watching over you all, especially her grandchildren who she adored to pieces. We will all miss her so much. May God bless you all, and give you strength during this difficult time.
Love,
Amy, Rob, Lauren, and Lincoln xo

What can we say about Comare Giulia? One of the kindest women that I've ever known in my life. Comare Giulia, had a unique way of making you feel special every time she saw you. Her inviting smile, her cheery voice, her heartfelt good wishes, she has always been a positive light in our lives. Honesty, she was one of my mother's most favourite people in the entire world. We're so sorry for your loss. She will be missed and treasured in our hearts forever. We know that she is reunited with Compare Raffaele and my mom, and the will be shining down on everyone to help fill the grief with beautiful memories. Sending lots of love, hope, peace and strength to you all.

Love,
Lucy, Lonnie & Toria oxo

Angie, Mirella and family,
Our deepest condolences and sympathy at this time. Aunt Giulia meant the world to Michael and our children loved their visits with her. After Lili’s passing she always said to them ‘you can call me Nonna’. She was a very special woman. She will be greatly missed and always cherished in our hearts.
All our love Michael, Jeannie, Sebastian and Francesca Etchells
