With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Joe) on September 21, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband for 69 years to Elena. Cherished father to Tina and Giovanna and proud Nonno of Ryan. Forever remembered by his adopted daughter Elaine.

Giuseppe will always be remembered as an avid gardener often working in his greenhouse for hours. Every fall he made his extraordinary wine. He loved sharing his bounty from the garden with his friends and neighbours.

Active up until a few years ago you could see him ride his bicycle around the neighbourhood waving to everyone. His favorite pastime was playing Sudoku puzzles. His daughter Tina provided him with a monthly book because he completed them so swiftly.

Even in his later years, he took great pleasure and pride in cooking for the family. His special “Zio chicken” and pasta were delicious. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Uncle Joe loved his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 4-9 p.m. A chapel service will be held on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Giuseppe will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Mausoleum (4570 Yonge St., north of Highway 401).
