Obituary

It is with profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of our mother and grandmother Laura Maione, on May 12, 2020 at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband Amedeo (December 5, 1981) and her son Anthony (August 22, 2003). Loving mother to Joe and Adelaide (Pasquale Maietta). Proud nonna of Margo Filomena and Cristina Laura and amazing bisnonna to AlessandroLaura is predeceased by her siblings Gioconda Ronco, Rosario Gallo and Franco Gallo and is survived by her sisters Irma Romano and Maria Galli. She will hold a special place in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews and their families.

During this unprecedented situation with COVID-19, it is with very heavy hearts that our family has made the difficult decision to hold a private funeral with our immediate family, in honor of our dear mother and grandmother, Laura Maione. We have chosen to do this in order to minimize the threat of spreading the coronavirus. Ultimately, we recognize that the health and safety of our family and friends comes first. We appreciate your love and support at this time, and we welcome your messages of condolence.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army in memory of Laura.

A tribute and celebration of her life will be held at a later date, when it is safe to do so.

Dear Adelaide, Pat, Margo, Cristy, and Alessandro,

Our condolences, prayers, and love are with you. We know that she is not gone from us as she is so deeply rooted in all our hearts. I loved when we saw her she would give us her “Hi Baby” greeting and she puckered up for a kiss. All the stories she told us, with all the side notes to them, kept us laughing for hours. She truly was the matriarch of the Maione family and she will be greatly missed but still greatly loved. Steve found this photo of Zia Laurina and Mommy that he took a few years back.

Love,
Steve, Elena, Michelle, and Grace

Dear Adelaide and family,
“Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.” I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mom was a special lady and a very dear friend of my mother Margherita. May the wonderful memories you have of her bring her peace and comfort during this difficult time.
