Maria do Carmo Machado

July 12, 1930 – December 4, 2022

With sadness, we announce the passing of Maria on December 4, 2022 at the age of 92. Reunited with her husband Joao (March 2, 2012), she leaves behind her daughter Alda (Enir Bassani). Proud avó of Matthew (Maggie) and Jonathan (Vanessa) and bisavó to Madeline, James, Cameron, Luke and Natalie. Predeceased by her 4 brothers and her sister, she is survived by her brothers, Antonio and Salvador. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and their families as well as many friends.

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave. W., at Dufferin St.) on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Maria will then be laid to rest with her husband at Mount Hope Cemetery (305 Erskine Ave. – Mount Pleasant Rd., north of Eglinton Ave. E.).
