Maria Vincenza Locacciato
April 18th 1941-April 7th 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, Maria Vincenza Locacciato. Devoted wife of Raffaele of 53 years, caring mother to son Vincenzo(Maria), daughter Stella(Domenic), Maria Rosaria(Mario), and cherished nonna to her grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Madeline, Felina, Rose, Matteo and Marissa and the eldest sibling to her loving sisters, Biagina, Gerardina, Brunina and Francesca.
Our mother’s journey was one of strength and faith. Rooted in the love of her family, she was the protective pillar on whom we could all rely. This same care she extended to everyone she encountered, whether it was through her generous sense of hospitality, her lending of a compassionate ear or an offer of comforting words. Her kind spirit was felt by all who knew her. She was a caregiver by nature but, in recent years, she required the care of others. Yet, where her health failed, her faith strengthened.
We are saddened but we are also uplifted in this Holy Week of the Easter Story that teaches there is hope amidst darkness. We’ve lost our mother but we’ve gained a guardian angel and her protective spirit carries on.
In the words of Saint Timothy: “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith”. Cara moglie, mamma, sorella e nonna, che sia il momento tuo per l'eterno riposo ela pace infine. Amen.
In light of the current state of the city, we will be having a private service to protect the collective safety of our family, friends and community. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all of you who have shown us heartfelt support during this difficult time. We welcome the day when we can express this gratitude with no distance between us.
We appreciate your love and support at this time, and we welcome your message of condolence in our memory wall above.
In lieu of flowers, donations in our mother’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
