Mavilia Maria Avila

January 14, 1941 – January 19, 2023

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mavilia on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the age of 82. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Manuel (2004). Caring mother to Luciano, Fatima (Jorge Azevedo), Maria Martino (Stephen Lorenz), Carlos (Fatima) and Margarida (Wilton Higgins).  Cherished Avo of Danny Avila, Mark Azevedo, Michael Azevedo, Andrew Azevedo, Nicholas Araujo, Tatiana Lorenz, Melissa Avila, Monica Avila, Nicholas Avila, Damien, and Eden Higgins. Devoted great-grandmother of 10.  Beloved sister of Elia and Cecilia in Portugal. Mavilia will be forever remembered and greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Monday, January 23, from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place  St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave. W, at Dufferin St.).  Burial to follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Ave. W., north section, enter cemetery from Kitchener Ave. gates).
