With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rachele Parente on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Toronto with her family by her side at the age of 84. Born in Palena, Chieti, Italy on April 15, 1936 she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Falco Parente.
Rachele was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons Joe (Libby), Tony (Lourdes) and John (Jennie), as well as her grandchildren Rachele, Michael, Grace, Hannah, Arthur, Leanor and step-grandson Logan and Zachary.
Rachele was the sixth of seven children and is survived by sisters Olimpia and Giuseppina and is predeceased by Nina, Luigi, Antonio and Agostino. Scattered around the world, she is missed by her siblings and their families greatly.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends and will live in our memories and hearts forever. Rest in peace.
Visitations will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Monday November 16 from 4-8 p.m. As the City of Toronto has moved into the more restricted ‘red’ category during this pandemic, guests will now need to now schedule and reserve their time to attended visitations. Available on the Bernardo Funeral Home website (www.bernardofh.com) you can reserve for yourself and family time during the visitation. Face masks are mandatory and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Transfiguration of our Lord Church (45 Ludstone Dr. – Dixon Rd., west of Kipling Ave.) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. The capacity of Transfiguration of our Lord Church is 50 people and face masks are mandatory. Funeral Mass will be streamed live:

A private entombment will follow at Westminster Cemetery. Due to the limited number of people allowed in attendance, only the immediate family members will attend the services at the cemetery.
If desired, donations in memory of Rachele may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
