Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Rosa Agostino, on June 7, 2020 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of 61 years to Domenico and cherished mother to Vince (Rose Jardine), Daniela (Bruno Cugini) and Patrizia (Thomas Lygdas). Proud Nonna to Alexander (Laura), Jonathan (fiancé Stephanie), Sophia and Julia. She will always be remembered and treasured by her brothers, Filippo Spagnolo (Fiorenza) and Nicodemo Spagnolo (Angelina, predeceased) and all her nieces, nephews, their families and by all those who’s lives she’s touched. On behalf of the Jardine family (Clare, Len, Paul, Colin, Carol, Corinne, Ona and Rose), we express our profound sorrow and immeasurable condolences to the Agostino family on the passing of Rosa Agostino.
Rosa’s warm smiles and easy mannerism always made me feel I was having my best day at any of our family gatherings. I truly looked forward to those gatherings. On one occasion, at the Christening of her first grandson, as we stood at the altar one of the candle posts got accidently knocked over and spilled hot wax on my new suit – made for the occasion. Domenico and Rosa with great concern, smiled and with all of our humor immediately took to the task of removing the wax – and successfully did so. Such wonderful memories are forever etched in my mind. Rosa, I hold you so dear in my heart – you will be so missed. May God hold you close and keep you safe.

To Mimi , Vince, Daniela, Patrizia and the Agostino family we wish to express our deep sadness and sincerest condolences. Rosa was such a special lady, kind and generous with always something nice to say about everyone. To me having known her all my life and making the trip across the ocean together, she was more than a cousin. We both have fond memories of travelling back to Italy together and the wonderful time we had.
We will miss her loving ways, but know that she will be in our hearts always, her spirit lives on in all of you and all of us.
May you rest in peace dear cousin.

We would like to give our most sincerest condolences to Rosa’s Family, her husband Domenico and three children Enzo, Daniela, and Patrizia and their families and all her grandchildren, whom she adored so much. I remember Rosa coming to our home with her many varieties of clothes. These evenings became gatherings with my aunts, my mother and me and of course Rosa displaying all her wonderful things for us to choose from! I got to know her well as a kind, loving lady who became part of our family. She always laughed and had a wonderful smile! She loved her jewelry, as do I. We loved to shop. I think we had more in common than she did with my mother and other ladies close to her own age.
We will miss our coffee times and conversations. Our only regret is that we couldn’t come to say goodbye!
We miss you Rosa and we will always have you in our hearts! Italia, Emily, and Antonieta Minatel.
