With broken hearts, we mourn the loss of our beautiful mother Rosa on March 30, 2020. Predeceased by her husband Giuseppe. Cherished mother to Mike (Karen) and Giovanna (Marcelo). Adored nonna to Deanna, Lia, Ava, and Edson. Loving sister to Maria, the late Canio, the late Antonio, and the late Michele. Caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Her life story is one of hard work, strength, resilience, a relentless devotion to her family, and pure love. All her actions were led from the heart. If she knew you, she loved you – and she made sure you felt it. She was always ready for you with a big, beautiful smile, a warm hug, and a certain way of making you feel like the most special person on earth.

We will dearly miss her infectious laugh, her comforting presence, her unconditional love, her sincere advice, her stories from “back in the day”, and her delicious home-made cooking and baking made from the heart.

In the end, all we could offer back to our precious mom was exactly what she blessed us with all of her life – a hand to hold, tender hugs, reassuring words, and constant reminders of how much she was loved.

We miss you dearly, but are consoled by the precious memories that are forever carved in our hearts.

With the recent COVID-19 outbreak and Public Health recommendations, we are taking caution to protect the safety of our friends, family and community, especially those who may be most at risk. We will be keeping the visitation and service limited to immediate family members, and deeply thank everyone for their understanding at this time.

We want to give our loved ones the opportunity to extend their condolences. We encourage friends and family to share their cherished memories of Rosa on our memory wall (tab above), where we will be collecting them to read as a family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reconnect Community Health Services Charitable Organization No. 107352528RR0001 or to Baycrest Foundation of the Palliative care unit

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our friends and family who have shown their heartfelt support during this difficult time.

Forever in our hearts.

Happy Birthday Nonna - we all miss you so much. If things were different, today we would be eating Jamoca Almond Fudge icecream cake, judging whether it was fresh or not. You would probably eat the almonds that I didn't want. We are still celebrating you today, living through the amazing memories you graced us with during your time here. I love you so much Nonna.

Dear Giovanna, Marcelo, Ava, Edson, Mike, Karen, Deanna & Lia, I am very sad after this tragic news. Even if I am far from you, I am still near you to give you courage and strength to go on in life. My dear cousin Rosa was always happy to hear me when there was an opportunity to call and the last time we talked on the phone she was very excited and eager to see me, but the distance did not allow us to see each other, but it was already very nice to speak each other. She always spoke about you and was very proud. I will miss my dear cousin so much, but it will always remain in my heart. A big hug from your Gabriele

Dear Giovanna, Marcelo, Ava, Edson, Mike, Karen, Deanna & Lia,
We share in your broken hearts. Mrs. Baldi's love was boundless and if you were lucky enough to know her, she made it crystal clear how she felt. I remember the countless nights she would sit at the dining room table to encourage myself and Giovanna to keep working hard during our university years...and most times, she would add a good old: YOU CAN DO THIS! I tell you, she was our beacon of strength and hope that we would get through it. She adored Victor even before she met him...I remember precisely...we were in church, and when she realized who he was, her eyes lit up and she flashed her beaming smile.
I will cherish her sound wisdom, her endless dedication to her family and the bountiful ways she touched so many of us.
We feel blessed to have known her and she will always have a very special place in our hearts.
With profound condolences on your beautiful and beloved mother/in-law/grandmother.
Now in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ.
With deep love and adoration,
Stella & Victor (caccuzia)

Aunt Rose
We are going to miss you dearly. Mauro remembers you coming to my parents’ house and like everyone else taking him to the “corner store” and of course you allowed him to buy whatever his little heart desired. Usually it was some type of toy that he really shouldn’t be playing with, he would run back to my parents’ house so fast that you could hardly keep up with him and when you finally caught up to him you picked him up and didn’t let him go. We could hear your laughter all the way to my parents’ house. Christina remembers you always asking her if she had a “boyfriend” even when she was little and she would say “I don’t have a boyfriend” and you would tease her with your big smile until she told you what you wanted to hear even if it was the same answer, “I don’t have a boyfriend”. Gabe will never forget the time we came to visit one Easter and you gave him a huge bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs, it felt like “Christmas” to him not Easter. I am going to miss our regular conversations, I always started by asking you how you were and you would always say you were fine even if you weren’t. I would then ask you about Giovanna and Mike and their families and you would tell me that they were “good” and I could hear it in your voice how proud you were of them and how much you loved them. I wont’ forget the story you told me when you phoned Mike and there was no answer and when you finally got a hold of him you told him, “I was worried I didn’t I know what happened to you”, and Mike said, “why didn’t you call the Police”, we both couldn’t stop laughing. I am going to miss your stories about life in ““Acerenza”. I remember you telling me that everyday Nononna, Aunt Mary and my dad would go work the land, Papanonno would go hunting and you would stay behind to take care of Uncle Tony and Uncle Mike and were also expected to have the “macaroni” ready or you would have to deal with the rathe of Nononna. Most of all, you reminded me of something very important , “....everything enjoy your life, don’t worry about the things that don’t matter life’s too short. Our conversation always ended with, “thank you Ninette for calling, I really appreciate it, and I love you very much.”
We are missing you already and love you very much, Ninette, Gabriele, Mauro and Christina.
Gio, Marcelo, Ava, Edson, Mike, Karen, Deanna and Lia our thoughts and prayers are with you.
