On Monday May 17, 2021, Rosalia Sinisi (néeFalotico) passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Devoted wife to the late Rocco, loving mother to the late Sebastiano (Rosa), Berardino (Manuela) and Italo, doting grandmother to Stephen (Daniela), Andria (Vito), Karli, Olivia and Sebastian, and cherished great-grandmother to Michael, Samantha, Benjamin and Matthew. She was adored by her family and will be remembered always for her beautiful spirit and incredible sense of humour. It is impossible to put into words how much she will be missed.
Born in Pisticci, Matera, she emigrated to Canada in1959 with the dream that all immigrants have—to find a better life for herself and her family. It was here in Toronto, alongside her husband Rocco, siblings Benito(Domenica), Domenico (Ninetta), Teresa (Michele) and Armando (Ninella), where she found a house to call her own and filled it with laughter and love for the next six decades.
And now, her full and beautiful life has come to an end. Though we grieve the loss of her presence in that home and in our lives, we take comfort in the lifetime of beautiful memories we have shared with her. Somewhere, not too far from here, she is having an espresso with her husband, son, brothers and sister, and we can hear the sound of their laughter.
