Mom was a walker. When we were little we walked from Dufferin to Bathurst ( Honest Eds) for our shopping. As everyone moved away and I didn't drive, we continued to walk everywhere, to the Ex grounds, to visit Elf @ King & Bathurst, even to Yorkdale. When she moved in with me , Mom told me to show her the streets so she wouldn't get lost walking around while I was at work. She memorized the area and walked. All our neighbours were amazed at her speed and age. Our family nick-named Mom our own Energizer Bunny.
Always miss you Mom , Ciao Bella .

I will always hold in my heart the wonderful memories of Zia Yolanda. When I would sleepover her beautiful smile and warm embrace always made me feel special even when she would give me that cute stern look pointing her finger at me saying "Mariella Palatee" (will get a spanking if I misbehave) knowing well that she was always joking around. All our visits at her house on Dufferin St. and growing up were welcomed with laughter, yummy food and great times. She had a heart of gold that brought us all so much happiness and touched our lives in so many ways. Godspeed Zia, you will be forever missed.

Our sincerest condolences to the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow from all of us, Aida, Vito Sgro and family.
My memory of zia (Violanda ) are of her making me dinner talking and laughing together when I went to her house on Dufferin St. many years ago to cut the kids hair on my way home from work. She was a woman who had the gentle characteristics of her father and the beauty of her mother ( my paternal grandparents. As my thoughts reminisce the past from time to time, this memory comes to mind and makes me smile.
R.I.P. zia

A great memory of Nona, at the reception of our wedding in 2016 it was prob 11:30-12:00am when Aunt Laura and Uncle Bill wanted to take Nona home...

Aunt Laura "ok mom it's time to go"
Nona looking up to her points her finger and firmly says, "NO! YOU GO! I NO GO!'
and as Aunt Laura pleaded because it was getting so late, Nona stood here ground and insisted she would not leave until Aunt Elfie caved and said she would stay.

After that we had a blast, the grandkids dancing with Nona at 1230 in the morning to pop music!
