With sadness, we announce the passing of Umberto on August 29, 2020 at the age of 89. Cherished husband of Teresa and beloved father of John (Donna), Antoinetta (John Ribeiro) and Danny (Marisa). Proud nonno of Hayley, Brendan, Sophia, Juliana, Lucas and Julian. Survived by his brother Antonio (late Matilda). Gone, but not forgotten are Umberto’s siblings Francesca (late Carmen), Maria (Tony), Eugenio (Carmela)
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 3-8 p.m. Please note, that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions and social distancing requirements, for the visitation, the funeral home must conform to 30% occupancy capacity. Visitors may need to wait to enter the funeral home in order to maintain the capacity requirement. Face masks are mandatory and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip Neri Church (2100 Jane St., south of Wilson Ave.) on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Please note, the capacity of St. Philip Neri Church is 30% occupancy capacity and face masks are mandatory.
A private entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St., south of Highway 7).
