Obituary

VINCENZA MARCANTONIO – May 27, 1925 – March 10, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of VINCENZA MARCANTONIO announces her passing on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the age of 95.
Born in Montefalcione, Italy, Vincenza was predeceased by her husband Attilio and son Rene. Vincenza will be lovingly remembered by her children, Antonio (Mirella), Claudia (Joseph), and Iside (Salvatore). Vincenza will also be fondly remembered by her 6 grandchildren, Audrey (Domenic), David, Karl (Carla), Rene, Cassandra (Kevin), and Mark. Adored by her 6 great-grandchildren, Grace, Rene, Dante, Makayla, Masseo, and Lucio. She will be sadly missed by extended family and friends.

Vincenza was a tough, strong and resilient woman who loved largely, gave wholeheartedly and protected her family fiercely. She was never afraid to speak her mind whether you liked it or not. The generosity of her soul extended beyond family, which made her special to all who were blessed to know her. Music moved her, from singing in the town of Montefalcione to watching her favourite singers on t.v. Her dream was to dance with Andre Rieu. Vincenza was a first-class rebel, and no one ever wanted to cross her. The rhythm of her life was filled with crescendos and diminuendos that took her from Italy to Belgium and finally to Canada. 95 years were filled with fun, adventure, heartache, sorrow, and unconditional love.

Due to the current COVID-19 capacity restrictions in place in Toronto, our family has made the difficult decision to have a private visitation and service for our beloved Vincenza. Friends and relatives are welcome to participate online via Zoom on Monday, March 15th, 2021 at 1:15 p.m. for her funeral service: The link is below and will be ACTIVATED on Monday morning.

Tony, Nina, Iside and Family

My close connection with my Zia Vincenza started at a very early age. Shortly after I was born, and lucky for me, my cousin Iside came along sixteen days later. I am grateful because, after my mom's milk was no longer safe for me, my aunt, without any hesitation, shared her own and saved me.

I have been fortunate in knowing Zia, witnessing first hand, her unconditional love, generosity and kindness. She embraced the gift of Peace from God and shared it. Having a strong faith enabled her to endure the many challenges throughout her lifetime. It was a great comfort in knowing that our families could always count on one another for support.

We will treasure all of the wonderful memories that we shared, with lots of love, joy and laughter. I pray for the next generations that follow to continue making beautiful memories with the unconditional love and respect that Zia demonstrated.

God Bless you and family.

Rest in Peace.
