Obituary for Vittoria D'Aquila (Venditti)

VITTORIA D'AQUILA

December 16, 1929 – July 31, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vittoria on July 31, 2022, at the age of 92. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Francesco†. Cherished mother to Anna Maria (Roy Della Savia†). Proud and loving nonna to Francesca. Treasured sister of Giuseppe† (Carmela†), Lucia† (Antonio†), Antonietta†, Giovanni (Lidia†), and Pasquale (Anna). Dear sister-in-law to Michele† (Concetta†), Giovanni† (Filomena†), Concetta† (Felice† and his wife, Maria Grazia†), and Antonio† (Cristina†). Caring zia to her many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Vittoria will always be remembered for her selfless nature, pure heart, and ability to persevere through life’s toughest challenges. She had a quick wit and sense of humour that always put an instant smile on her granddaughter’s face. Vittoria’s cooking was unmatched – especially when it came to her renown tomato sauce. In her later years, her hobbies included praying the rosary, gardening, sitting on her porch, and taking afternoon naps with her late granddog, Coco.

Having suffered from advanced dementia over the past few years, Vittoria’s family finds peace in knowing that she is now free from the shackles that restrained her in her final years on this earth and is now back to her true, whole self in heaven. May she rest in peace.

Visitations will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin Street, Toronto, ON) on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 3pm – 9pm. The funeral mass will be at St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto, ON) on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10am. Vittoria will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (Yonge Street, South of Hwy 7). Relatives and friends who are unable to attend the funeral mass may watch and participate virtually via the following link: VITTORIA D'AQUILA LIVESTREAM
