it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Caterina Guccardi, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, on Monday May 8th, at the age of 92. Caterina was the beloved wife of late Ciro Gucciardi, Cherished mother of Tony (Margaret) and Frank (Susan) and much-loved Nonna of Ciro & Luisa, Michael, Jonathan & Catherine. Born into a large family in Vita, Sicily, Caterina’s caring and giving nature will be remembered fondly by her family, relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held at the Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave.) on Thursday May 11, 2017 from 2-4, 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave., at Dufferin St.) on Friday May 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens ( 33 Memory Gardens Lane - Don Mills Rd., south of Steeles Ave) In memory of Caterina, donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation or Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.
