With heartbreak we announce the sudden passing of Renzo Pillon on July 24, 2020. Beloved husband to Robin and proud and devoted father of Tara (fiancé Christopher Mamone) and Nicole. Predeceased by his father, Rino (March 16, 2001), he leaves behind his adored mother, Gina and sisters Luana and Denise.

Renzo always saw the world from a perspective of love, gratitude, acceptance, and forgiveness. He was a caring and giving man who lived his life with respect, integrity, and faith. Gentle yet strong, serious yet quick witted, Renzo inspired a higher standard in family and friends alike. He saw the best in everyone and encouraged success in others. Every opinion was valid and worthy of consideration. His understated elegance and humility permeated all that he did and everyone that he touched.

Renzo pursued many passions. His love for architecture, his chosen profession, was never work to him. He took tremendous pride and care in every detail of his projects. He achieved great joy through his charitable work. Renzo had a true passion for cycling, which he shared with a special group of friends. He never wanted to be the centre of attention, yet was a beam of strength, wisdom, and love. He was a hero to his family and provided thoughtful guidance and support in their lives - late night talks, family meals, baking videos, costume design, music selection, choreography notes, business advice, and so much more.

Renzo was taken too soon but he has left a profound impact and the most cherished and beautiful memories – a kind and exceptional husband, father, son, brother, friend and mentor.

Dear Pillon Family
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your tremendous loss. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Renzo’s passing. He was taken from you far too early.
Although I did not know Renzo outside the cycling studio I can feel the love, respect and admiration in all of the words expressed here. He was truly a remarkable man. I met Renzo in a spin studio in Leaside where I was leading the class. His focus and dedication to hard work were apparent to me from the first time I saw him on the bike. It was a pleasure and an honour to have Renzo ride with us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Stay strong for one another and know that he is watching over you.
Sincerely Deirdre Casey

“A beautiful life that came to an end. He died as he lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.”

It is an absolute honour and privilege to have known Renzo. He left a lasting impression on everyone that was fortunate enough to meet him. Renzo was an admirable, kind, hard-working, passionate, humble and altruistic man who never waned in his support or love for his family. He always sought to help others and do what he could to make the world a better place, a true class act.

One of our most treasured memories was travelling to Malaga, Spain last summer with ACE Dance Theatre and the Pillon Family. It was an incredible adventure, shared with wonderful people and Renzo was at the centre of it all. In true Renzo style, he took great care of everyone and always kept us feeling safe and content. We toured small towns, visited beautiful churches and shared many wonderful meals together. At every meal, he would share stories and always kept us laughing. He had THE BEST sense of humour. The fondest of times were those shared at the various performances. He would snap pictures of everyone, record every dance and help in any way he could, never missing a beat. At the end of every performance, he would beam with so much pride, joy and admiration for Tara, Liana and the 8 young dancers. He was their biggest cheerleader and supporter. I will never forget how he made everyone feel, a truly special soul. This trip will always remain close in our hearts, grateful to have shared in this beautiful time and experience together.

Beloved friends, Robin, Tara and Nicole, no words can begin to capture the magnitude of your loss. Our hearts are with you in your time of sorrow. Renzo will be greatly missed by everyone he touched and inspired, but his warmth, kindness, compassion and gentle spirit will be cherished forever. We extend our deepest condolences to his beautiful mother Gina and sisters, Denise and Luana. May you all find comfort knowing that Renzo’s thoughts, hopes and dreams will live in your hearts forever.

Rest in eternal peace dearest Renzo. Looking forward to hearing the bell chime in your honour.

With much love and affection,
Sabrina, Joe, Victoriana and Gianluca Belperio
