Surrounded by his family, Rocco passed away peacefully on April 22, 2016 at the age of 91. He was deeply loved by so many, none more than his late wife Isabella for whom he will now be reunited. Beloved father of Gus (Rosa), Mary and Nick (Anna). Cherished grandfather to Melissa (Joseph), Amanda (Cesare), Nicholas, Rocco, Jerry, Bianca, Izabella and Kayla.

Born in Vallelonga, Catanzaro, Italy, Rocco immigrated to Canada to begin a new life. He planted his roots in Toronto’s little Italy. There he started his family and plumbing business. He was devoted to both. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, a trait that was never unnoticed or unappreciated. He will be forever remembered as a true patriarch.

Family and friends will be received at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave.) on Sunday, April 24 from 6-9 p.m. and Monday, April 25 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave., at Dufferin St.) on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery (305 Erskine Ave. – Mount Pleasant Rd., north of Eglinton Ave.). The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Harold & Grace Baker Centre for their kind and compassionate approach to Rocco’s care. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario in Rocco’s memory.
